Suspects charged with home repair fraud in unincorporated DuPage

Two men accused of home repair fraud against an elderly DuPage County woman were jailed Friday on $250,000 bail.

Earlier this month, Lazzo convinced an elderly woman her home in unincorporated DuPage was badly in need of a new roof, authorities said. He accepted $8,000 as a down payment on a $22,250 contract and then never returned, according to the charges.

FBI: Serial robber hits the Arlington Heights bank

A man suspected of robbing a Rolling Meadows bank in October has struck again, this time in Arlington Heights, authorities said Saturday.

Police responded Friday morning to Glenview State Bank, 1801 South Arlington Heights Road, after the suspect passed a note to a teller and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapon was shown and no one was hurt, said FBI Special Agent Joan Hyde.
