A former west suburban police officer offered to help a woman he saw on the street, then took her to a motel and sexually assaulted her, prosecutors charged Friday.
Former Maywood officer Deon Sams, 38, of Bolingbrook was ordered held on a $200,000 by Judge Thomas Else on Friday. He is charged with one count each of criminal sexual assault and official misconduct, according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney’s office.
